| Seinajoki is known as a city of education, hospital and health services, culture, sports, as well as of trade and business activities. Thanks to its Alvar Aalto Centre, Seinajoki is a recognized destination for architectural sites. Great buildings designed by Alvar Aalto such as the City Hall dating from 1962, City Library (1965), Lakeuden Risti church (1960) and Civil Guard House can be admired in Seinajoki. The city is, together with Buenos Aires, one of the world's leading Tango Cities. The Tangomarkkinat Tango Festival, the biggest summer event in Finland, attracts annually more than 100 000 people.
