| Founded in Roman times, San Remo has become nowadays the most cosmopolitan resort on the Italian Riviera, catering mostly to sun-seeking families with a wonderful climate all year round. Shaped like an amphitheatre between Cape Verde eastwards and Cape Nero westwards, it offers visitors a long stretch of beach and a hilltop Old Town known as La Pigna and also, for cosmopolitan pleasures, a casino.
