| Satu Mare is one of the most beautiful cities in Romania. The personality of the city and its true fascination lies in the voluptuous richness of its urban architecture. The building which hosts the Art Collection of the Satu Mare County Museum has two wings with different architectural styles. Only one wing remained from the building bought by Baron Vecsey in 1789 and this is considered to be the oldest standing civil building in Satu Mare. In 1842 the second wing of the museum was added, built in neo-Gothic style. The Roman-Catholic cathedral occupies a central position in Piata Libertatii. Another neoclassic treasure located in Piata Libertatii is the Ormos House. The Dacia Hotel is located in the center of the city and is one of the most beautiful Secession style buildings in Transylvania. |
