| Swansea is located on the Gower Peninsula, the UK's first designated 'area of outstanding natural beauty'. Many of the city centre buildings were destroyed during the World War II and rebuild afterwards. Within the city centre, you can visit the ruins of the castle, the Marina, the Dylan Thomas Centre, the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea Museum, and the Central Market, which is the largest covered market in Wales. Swansea is also the birthplace of the famous actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. |
