| Belize City (3 Hotels options in Belize City) |  | Belize City is the country's only urban genuine area. It is Belize's commercial hub, transportation, cultural center, main seaport and most populated region. It is the gateway to all the other tourist areas in the country. Belize City itself does not have many tourist attractions; overnight stays are mandatory only when you book an optional tour like Lamanai, the Panti Trail, etc. There are two airports. Domestic flights leave from both of them although flights from the domestic airport are less expensive.

| Turneffe Island |  | The Turneffe Islands make up the largest atoll reef in Belize, with more than 200 mangrove islands, hosting a wealth of exotic marine life. With a bit of luck, you will be able to see the Whitespotted Toadfish, endemic to Belize. The Turneffe Island area is 30 miles long and 10 miles wide, and the underwater visibility is truly exceptional, making it a top destination for viewing eagle rays, dolphins, reef sharks and many other species. |
