General Facility Description

Diving:
The lodge is situated on the southern end of Turneffe Atoll within 15 minutes of over 30 recognized dive sites including the Elbow, unquestionably the best dive site in the Western Caribbean. Located on the extreme southern tip of the atoll, this site is swept by ocean currents, which brings in large schools of groupers, jacks, permits and snappers. As you drift along the pinnacles and sand shoots, you will encounter hawksbill and loggerhead turtles, eagle rays and even hammerhead sharks. Divers at Turneffe Island Lodge are pampered from the day they arrive. Every morning, the lodge?s expert dive staff personally prepares and loads each diver?s equipment. All you have to do is show up at the dock and step aboard the boat. Diving gear is also washed and dried after your last dive in time for departure. While 14 dives are offered for the 7 night stay, the program is designed to let the guests choose which dives to take. A day trip to Lighthouse Reef Atoll/lue Hole and Booby Bird Sanctuary is offered on Tuesday and on Thursday a night dive. Dives are weather permitting and may change without notice.

Snorkeling:
One of the many blessings Turneffe Island Lodge enjoys is the abundant coral formations in the shallow waters surrounding the island.The staff has located numerous snorkeling sites within minutes of the lodge. Within the pristine waters, you will see starfish, vibrant tropical fish, colorful corals and barrel sponges. You may even get a glimpse of a stingray, dolphin or turtle heading back to the ocean after feeding in the surrounding sea grass. The lodge schedules two snorkeling trips each day. The schedule is flexible so just let them know when you have an interest.

Room Facility and Description

At Turneffe Island Lodge accommodations are very modern, they have been recently renovated and are designed and built to be elegant, peaceful, and relaxing. Choose from 12 finely adorned rooms and 8 private cabanas all with Mahogany wood paneling and flooring, large opening windows, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, screened in porches, daily housekeeping, indoor showers and the ever popular private outdoor showers.
The hotel have 4 deluxe rooms, 8 superior rooms, and 8 stand alone cabanas. Each room is amost identical in design and quality, and all have direct ocean views.
