The narrow peninsula of Placencia slithers down the southern coast of Belize like a snake. The eastern shoreline is 15 miles of continuous white sand beach. On the western side, a finger-shaped lagoon separates the peninsula from mainland Belize. Placencia village is a Creole fishing village with a laid-back attitude. Other charming villages are the Creole Independence, and the Garifuna Seine Bright. |
