Cochabamba is a major agricultural center in central Bolivia, located in a valley bearing the same name in the Andes mountain range. With more than 800,000 people, it is the third largest in Bolivia and home to the largest open-air market in South America, La Cancha, open 7 days a week. True to its Spanish heritage, the city prides itself with several historical and archaeological attractions, to include the cathedral, the Santa Teresa Convent, and the Archaeology Museum.
