| ESSENCE OF THE AREA |
Known as the "Sacred Lake of the Incas", the highest navigable lake in the world connects Puno (Peru) with Huatajata (Bolivia) via the famous "Lake Titicaca Crossing."
If La Paz is your home base, the lake crossing can be done in reverse, or you might choose to do only a half-day tour visiting only the Bolivian side of the lake.
The lake crossing is done from Puno to Copacabana by land and the rest by hydrofoil. The most recommended way of doing the total lake crossing is by hydrofoil.

| RECOMMENDED STAY |
| You need 3 nights to really enjoy the lake crossing: 1 night in Puno, 1 night in Huatajata or Sun Island, and 1night in La Paz.
The other option for those on a tight schedule is the full day lake crossing, leaving Puno at 7am and arriving at La Paz at 6.30pm, or vice versa, leaving La Paz at 9am arriving in Puno at 6pm.
