General Facility Description

Hotel Fonda Vela is a beautiful hotel, which provides a nurturing experience for all those who visit it. With spacious rooms, private bathrooms and hot water. A restaurant, specializing in home style and international cuisine with ingredients from the organic garden, is a delight.

Latin root of the word Fonda means a place of rest or nourishment after a long journey. Vela, or candle, represents service and hospitality. There is 35-acres of lush forest and verdant pastures that are excellent for birding and hiking. A 15-minute walk away is the world famous 10,500-hectare Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, which incorporates five tropical life zones.

Fonda Vela has 40 rooms in 9 separate buildings. Most of the rooms are handicap accessible. New rooms (suites) aim for deluxe, with huge bathrooms and beautiful fixtures and furniture.  Older rooms are more rustic but have greater charm, with wood-panelled walls and huge windows - most giving astonishing views, especially at sunset.

CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE STAY FREE. CHILDREN FROM 3-7 YEARS OF AGE GET A DISCOUNT OF THE REGULAR RATE, SHARING THE ROOM WITH PARENTS.
