Throughout history, Cuernavaca has been known as the ultimate retreat center in Mexico. After the Spanish Conquest was over, Hernan Cortes settled in this beautiful city. During the brief French Occupation, Cuernavaca became Emperor Maximilian's weekend retreat as well. You can enjoy a pleasant stay at one of the city's country-club style hotels, have a nice meal at a sidewalk cafe, or just wander around and admire the city's rich colonial heritage.

ESSENCE OF THE AREA
Cuernavaca has been known as a resort town for many Chilangos (Mexico City residents) that seek to escape from the hectic city life from time to time. Known for its rejuvenating spas, retreat centers, and beautiful landscapes, Cuernavaca is also known for its historic attractions. Named "The City of the Eternal Spring", Cuernavaca has a delightful spring-like weather year round as well as numerous dining and shopping attractions to make your stay a pleasant one.

Cuernavaca's nearest airport is the Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) in Mexico City. The airport is located approximately 60 miles away and the journey from the airport to the downtown area in Cuernavaca is approximately 2 hours.
