Morgan's Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge is more than just a hotel. It is a project of nature conservation, community development and reforestation offering Agro- and Ecotourism at its best. Endowed with a private, white-sanded beach visited by sea turtles to lay their eggs, the hacienda also hosts its own primary tropical dry forest ecosystem.

It is part of a full-scale tree farming, reforestation and conservation project that extends over 1,800 hectares. Over the past four years the owners of the hacienda and resort have planted almost 1.5 million trees (both native hardwood and fruit) and have roughly set 800 hectares of primary forest under conservation. Formerly extinct animal species are being reintroduced into the private reserve and existing animal populations have been successfully protected from hunters. The hacienda is home to one of Latin America`s finest agro tourism operations providing guests with the opportunity to learn about reforestation, tree farming, sustainable agriculture and traditional farming techniques.

All fifteen bungalows face west, letting you revere dramatic sunsets disappear into the Pacific Ocean. The surrounding forest adds indispensable privacy and peace to each unit. Most bungalows sit on a cliff overlooking the private bay and estuary. While they have been soundly designed to offer shelter from rain, sun or wind, each bungalow breathes nature.Some may have a tree growing out through the roof but all enjoy an indoor beach garden hosting your own private outdoor shower.

Almendro, caoba, cedro, eucalipto, guapinol, laurel y nogal? beautiful sounding Spanish names that have been worked into the structure of the Morgans Rock`s bungalows. The latter are all tropical woods that were used to build the fifteen bungalows at Morgan`s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge. All proceed from responsibly managed logging sources or reforestation projects in Nicaragua, ensuring artistic yet ecologically responsible built bungalows.
