It is also well known by surfers. There are beaches close by that are perfect for surfing with 4-meter waves. Other water sports are offered too, like diving and snorkeling for having tranquil and crystalline waters, and amazing coral reefs. Sportfishing can be practiced year round too.
La Flor Wildlife Refuge, an important nesting area for marince turtles, is only 20 km. from San Juan del Sur. The green 'Lora' sea turtle and the leatherback 'Baula' turtle can be observed here. |
