The most southwestern province of Panama, located 440 km from Panama City, Chiriqui is an area with a rich bio-diversity. Highlights include La Amistad National Park, jointly managed by Panama and Costa Rica, and the Baru Volcano from where, in a clear day, you can see both oceans. Tourists can benefit from mountain hotels, which offer a wide array of activities. The area might be somehow compared to Monteverde.

ESSENCE OF THE AREA

Boquete is a small and beautiful town located in the Chiriqui province, in a valley surrounded by the impressive mountains of the Central Mountain Range.
This site is one of the newer and more vigorous tourist destination of the country, whith aboundant natural resources like mountains covered by primary and secondary forests, a huge fauna diversity, singing creeks of cristal clear waters, impetuous rivers, a majestic volcano, national parks and forest reserves.

This area has everything: volcanoes, rivers, cloud forests, mountains, great weather. The west side of the Baru is a bit wilder, cooler and more dramatic than the east side. Both sides have great beauty, but the east side has something its western neighbor lacks: a charming little town called Boquete. The town is tiny and laid-back. A very relaxing place to hang out and plan day trips to the many attractions nearby .
