The Turneffe Islands make up the largest atoll reef in Belize, with more than 200 mangrove islands, hosting a wealth of exotic marine life. With a bit of luck, you will be able to see the Whitespotted Toadfish, endemic to Belize. The Turneffe Island area is 30 miles long and 10 miles wide, and the underwater visibility is truly exceptional, making it a top destination for viewing eagle rays, dolphins, reef sharks and many other species.
 
ESSENCE OF THE AREA
This is a DIVING paradise, the largest of the offshore atolls is 19 miles from the mainland; it is easily accessible via daytrip boats from Belize City, Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. Most dive sites are grouped around the south end and west side of the atoll.
RECOMMENDED STAY
You will need at least one week to get the most out of this island has to offer.
RECOMMENDED SIGHTSEEING & ACTIVITIES
Diving here is not for the novice, you have to be at least an intermediate diver. Fishing.
